New inexcusable lows

Well, well, well...another eventful week.

Plummeting to new inexcusable lows, scraping the bottom of the barrel, like a gang of vulgar vultures huddled ‘round a bin outside KFC. Boris Johnson & Co. cling desperately and unashamedly to power at all cost. Extinguishing any last shred of integrity or morality they might have appeared to have possessed.

After being issued a fixed penalty notice by the Met for having been found guilty of breaking his own COVID rules, Johnson decided the best course of action was not to resign for the sake of the country he is meant to serve. No, instead he is 'getting on with the job' at hand, maintaining the defence that he did not knowingly mislead parliament as he 'spoke in completely good faith' when he told them no rules were broken and that all guidance was followed. For the first time in history a sitting Prime Minister has been found guilty of breaking the law.

No doubt, this deceitful behaviour is only the tip of the iceberg, I imagine there are a whole manner of 'things’ we will never even hear of, let alone know the truth of.

'Why does it matter?', you ask. 'Can we not just move on?'.

No. We can not just move on. It's a matter of trust, if he can so easily lie about this then what else? With contempt for the people he serves Boris has stuck his middle finger up to consequence and has instead chosen to limp on like a wobbly golem with one wooden leg, steering this battered and leaking ship of pirate capitalism head first towards the shallow rocks of amoral dystopia. By refusing to resign he has ripped away the cloak of democracy and revealed the bony fingers of Tory dictatorship that linger about ambiguously in the shadows like something from a nightmare, ready and waiting to torment hungry children in their slumber whenever the chance might arise.

Boris was not alone, Carrie and Sunak also received fines from the Met for having broken COVID rules.

In case you didn't know 'Hypocrisy in the UK', is the name of the Sunak’s upcoming rebellious punk album, due to be released in his domiciled home country of God knows where. Sad really, since the man now has no chance of becoming Prime Minister, perhaps he'll have better luck with his next hobby. His first 2 singles, 'holiday homes in the Sun' and 'god save my wife, she's richer than the Queen'.

Since Sunak's attitude to life seems to be 'fuck Tax, I'm the Tax man' it won't surprise you that despite the fines he has also not yet stepped down. Being 'persuaded' not to on account of how it would make Boris look, perhaps forcing Johnson to then do the same. Oh, how honourable!

After it was confirmed by the Met that the PM and the Chancellor had broken the law, the country waited patiently to see which way the winds would turn.

So, who better to leap to the defence of Boris Johnson than the embodiment of Upper Class arrogance himself, a man who, if you were to cut him his blood would run blue, the incredibly dandy, out of touch, gentleman, Mr. Jacob Rees-Mogg.

As his Pinocchio like appearance might suggest, Jacob Rees-Mogg is not a real boy. In an interview this week the string puppet character was not actually defending Boris, he was defending class, elitism and unquestioned privilege. In a discussion with TalkRADIO host Julia Hartley-Brewer the Brexit opportunities monster, sorry I mean Minister, made the argument that 'Boris Johnson is in the national interest'.

Astonishingly, the matter of #partygate 'fluff' being of little or no importance to him. They are above the rules let us not forget, it's the natural order of things.

So the wounded Tory lost boys solider on, getting on with the job at hand, with their latest shiny distraction, the 'Rwanda Scheme'.

Deemed by the Labour Party and charity organisations to be ‘unworkable, unethical and extortionate’.

Even Conservative MP Andrew Mitchell has spoken out against the scheme.

The Rwanda Scheme is a cruel plan to trade humans like commodities.

Stone hearted Priti Patel, who resembles a Tim Burton villain, an unfeeling, uncaring, evil woman who unsurprisingly idolises Margret Thatcher, has said ‘the “vast majority” of those arriving in the UK “illegally” would be considered for relocation to Rwanda.’

Of course, as safe and ‘legal’ routes to the UK are now few and far between this would put many people in precarious situations.

A new inexcusable low.

Just how low can they go?
